As Christmas is coming up, I’m taking some time to practice and experiment with some recipes for the family leading up to the 25th.
No matter what, one recipe that can always be counted on is this Quiche Lorraine recipe. If you try your hand at this, I promise you’ve got an easy in at curating the perfect meal for your family. Simply heavenly.
Ingredients (2-3 servings):
- 1 deep dish pie shell
- 2 cups cooking cream (15% whipping cream or heavy cream also works)
- 4 ounces bacon bits
- 1 egg yolk
- 3 eggs
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 1 tsp chopped chives
- 1/4 tsp oregano
- 1/4 tsp one-step seasoning of your choice
- 1/2 grated Swiss/Mozzarella cheese
1: Bake the pie shell as per instructions. Brush the pie shell with egg yolk once it comes out of the oven and is still warm.
2: Cook the bacon bits over a warm skillet for about 2 minutes over medium heat. Set them aside.
3: In a bowl, whisk together the cream, eggs, salt, oregano, seasoning, chives and nutmeg. Add in the bacon and whisk some more.
4: Sprinkle the Swiss cheese over the pie shell bottom. Pour the cream mixture over the cheese.
5: Bake for approximately 40-45 minutes or until pie crust turns golden brown.
Hoping you get to try it out,
